If you can learn to tolerate it, ME1 is a genuinely awesome game, and ME2 is also really good, my favorite in the series (despite what that other dude is hipstering about, ME2 is a damn fine game and pretty widely loved). ME2 and ME3 are much more action-oriented shooters with many RPG elements, ME1 is a lot more of a numbers game.
